Full of confidence, sprint champion Usain Bolt says he wanted to dominate the world of sprinting until the next Olympics in Brazil.

PARISFRANCE (JULY 2, 2013) (REUTERS) -  Star sprinter Usain Bolt told journalists in Paris on Tuesday (July 2) he would carry on dominating the world of sprinting until the next summer Olympics in 2016.

A few days ahead of the Diamond League Althletic meeting in Paris, the world record holder looked tired but said he would continue being at the top in the coming years.

"I want to continue dominating until the next Olympics so I have to work hard, train hard and stay focused," he said.

The Olympic champion said he was working on his technique ahead of the meeting where he will face European champion Christophe Lemaitre in the 200 metres on Saturday (July 6) in Paris.

Bolt was surprisingly beaten by Olympic bronze medallist Justin Gatlin last month at the Rome Diamond League race, where the American burst past Bolt.

But the Jamaican has since been back home where he successfully took part in the national trials to qualify for the World Championships in MoscowRussia this August.

"The first one hundred wasn't so good but I went to the trials and it felt great to run and actually accelerate at the end, so that felt good and that was gone so it's back now, so now I just need to work on it and get stronger and then figure out the small technical glitches and get that done also and I'll be fine," he said.

Bolt said that he wants to emulate Michael Johnson of the United States, who dominated the 200 and 400-metre events during much of the 1990's, winning Olympic and world titles in both events as well as setting world records in both.

"I've won everything already but now it is to show that I can be a dominant sprinter, you want to dominate for the rest of your career. I remember asking Michael Johnson 'why did you retire?' and he said 'I've won everything and I have dominated everything', and I want to be that person also, to dominate for the rest of my career, it's going to be hard and challenging because there's going to be younger, faster, better kids coming up and challenging you. So for me I strive on competition, I enjoy competing against the best because when you compete against the best, you show the world that you are a better person. So for me, I look forward to the younger kids coming up and I look forward to beating them all also," he said.
