Fans welcome return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea.

LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (JUNE 4, 2013)(REUTERS) -  The United Kingdom woke up on Tuesday (June 4) to the reality that the " Special One" is back at Chelsea.

The news of Jose Mourinho's return doiminated the back pages, with many comparing his relationship with the club to a marriage.

" I always thought he'd come back because he's the best manager that's ever been here , " said fan Tommy Davis " I've been supporting Chelsea since 1955, never won so many trophies since he's been manager and I'm glad to see him back and he is the best, he is the best." Fans at the club never warmed to interim managerRafael Benitez, sue to his previous associations with Liverpool..

Joseph Mendes, another fan, thought the key to success would be Mourinho's relationship to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich . " I think Mr Abramovich made a big mistake and I think he has realised that and I think they'll get on well this time, much better than last time and it will be good for the club, fantastic for the club."

Mourinho came back for the scond time on a four-year contract. The Portuguese, who left Real Madrid last weekend, won the 2005 and 2006 Premier League titles in his first spell with the west London club but departed in 2007 after falling out with billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

The news of his return was an open secret long before Mourinho told a Spanish TV soccer show on Sunday that he hoped to take charge at Chelsea by the end of the week. Mourinho ended his three-year reign at Real Madrid with a 4-2 home La Liga victory over Osasuna at the weekend. He won the Spanish title in 2012 but left after a difficult season with no major trophies.

Mourinho inherits a side that again qualified for the Champions League, after finishing third in the Premier League last season. They also won the Europa League but are in need of some restructuring if they are to overhaul northern giants Manchester United and City.
