Shanghai Shenhua's fans react to reports that stars Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba could be on their way..

SHANGHAICHINA (JANUARY 28, 2013) (REUTERS) -  It appears to be a grim day for Shanghai football team Shenhua fans as sources have recently reported that French and Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka will join Juventus in Italy and Ivory Coast international and former Chelsea forward Didier Drogbawill sign with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Former Arsenal, Real Madrid and Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka might have already signed on to join Italian club Juventus on a short-term deal from China's Shanghai Shenhua, a source well-connected to Juventus club said on Monday (January 28).

The source also said that there were still some contract details that have yet to be solved before Shanghai Shenhua makes its official announcement.

According to a Sunday (January 27) announcement posted on Juventus's official website, Anelka has already undergone a medical examination ahead of his proposed move to Juventus. Anelka is expected to sign a five-month contract worth 600,000 euros if everything "goes well," China's official state media Xinhua news agency said on Monday (January 28).

Shenhua fans do not seem surprised about Anelka's potential departure.

"I don't feel any shock about Anelka leaving Shenhua, " said 31 year-old fan Gu Zhonghua. " After all, it's not the same stage. You know Chinese football is on the second or third level in Asia. They are not on the same level. So Anelka needs to play in a better team. So I don't feel any shock about his leaving."

Thirty-five-year-old Gong Jianhua added : "I don't think he (Nicolas Anelka) is at the peak of his abilities while he was with Shenhua, even less than half of his peak. It may have some relatives with his increasing age. His effect in Shenhua is not so obvious. He didn't play as well as his career in Premier League."

Anelka, who joined Shanghai a year ago, was later joined by his former Chelsea team mate Didier Droga, who might also leave Shanghai Shenhua to sign a 1-1/2 year contract with Galatasbaray, according to a report from Turkish broadcaster CNN Turk's on Sunday (January 27).

The 34-year-old Droga, who is on African Nations Cup with the Ivory Coast, moved toChina after helping Chelsea win the Champions League last May.

"I think it's a big possibility that Drogba will leave Shenhua, " said fan Shen Hao. " In my opinion, I don't want Drogba leaving Shanghai emotionally. I will feel disappointed if Drogba leaves Shanghai. I hope he will stay here. But I still feel he will leave."

Another fan, Zhang Yiming added : "I think it's a big possibility that Drogba will leaveShenhua because there are a lot of problems with Shenhua. Drogba is still at his peak. If he goes back to Europe, he can play in the Champions League. I would feel good to see him (go to) Europe. But it would be great if he stays with Shenhua." .

The signings of Drogba and former French striker Anelka were heralded as a coup for the Chinese Super League last year.

After years of negative headlines brought by match-fixing scandals, the arrival of the two former Chelsea stars in China was hoped to be the start of a more positive era.
