Ronaldinho facing 'aliens'

Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho arrives in India to promote his new animated film project 'Ronaldinho versus Aliens'.

PUNEMAHARASHTRAINDIA (DECEMBER 27, 2012) (ANI) -  Legendary Brazilian soccer player and 2002 World Cup winner Ronaldinho arrived at Pune airport, in India's western state of Maharashtra, on Thursday (December 27) to publicise the making of a new animated film 'Ronaldinho vs Aliens'.

He was welcomed by a a group of traditional drummers and mobbed by fans as he left the airport terminal.

The 32-year-old, who currently plays for Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro, will feature in the animated film inspired by 'Space Jam', the 1996 film starring basketball legend Michael Jordan and animated characters from the Looney Tunes cartoon series. Further details of the project are expected to be announced shortly.

Ronaldinho's visit was organised by Indian millionaire Balaji Rao who runs a poultry business Venky's and owns soccer club Blackburn Rovers, currently in England's second division.

Ronaldinho, the former Barcelona and AC Milan striker, was instrumental in helpingBrazil win the 2002 World Cup and was voted FIFA's World Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006.

He spent three less successful years with AC Milan before joining Flamengo at the start of last year. He then moved to Atletico where he has enjoyed more success, helping the club to finish runners-up to Brazilian champions Fluminense.
