England Rugby Football Union (RFU) Director of Rugby Operations Rob Andrew says a review of England's World Cup campaign would be conducted soon.

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (OCTOBER 9, 2011) REUTERS - England Rugby Football Union (RFU) Director of Rugby Operations Rob Andrew said on Sunday (October 9) a review of England's World Cup campaign would be conducted soon, although he was reluctant to give any specific timetable.

Andrew was speaking the morning after England's quarter-final exit after the team's 19-12 defeat to France in Auckland.

He said: "We need to look at this review which we will do in a very robust manner in the next few weeks," he said. "Reflect on where we are as a squad, where Martin is obviously in his role in that and look to the next few years.

"Obviously it's very disappointing to go out of the World Cup quarter-final. It's happened before, it will probably happen again to teams, that's just what happens. We've just got to look at where the squad is. I think there's a very talented group of young players who have come into the squad over the last 18 months.

"But as we all know, you get it wrong in one World Cup knockout game, whether it's Ireland yesterday in Wellington, I'm sure they're reflecting the same this morning, and that's it you go home. That's the nature of World Cups, we've all been there before. Now we have to take stock, not overreact one way or the other, which we won't do."
