LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (MARCH 21, 2014) (REUTERS) - Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho took another sly dig at Arsene Wenger on Friday (March 21) while expressing admiration for a rival he dubbed a "specialist in failure" only a month ago.
Mourinho being Mourinho, he could not resist a sting in the tail to the praise for a manager whose side have not won a trophy since 2005.
"it's not possible to have 1,000 matches unless the club is also a fantastic club in the way they support their managers, especially in their bad moments and especially when the bad moments were quite a lot. So I admire the manager and I admire the club," he said.
Chelsea currently lead the league with a four point advantage over Arsenal and Wenger needs no extra motivation to beat them at Stamford Bridge after dismissing Mourinho's comments last month as "silly" and "disrespectful".
However, Wenger has yet to beat a Mourinho side in the previous ten attempts. However, Moutinho said that his personal record would have little outcome on the match.
"It's Chelsea against - It's Chelsea against Arsenal. I don't even play with Inter or with Madrid or with Porto- I just played with Chelsea and its Chelsea-Arsenal, Arsenal-Chelsea. It's not me against him."
