Lance Armstrong takes part in his first cycling event since his decision not to fight USADA doping charges.

ASPEN, COLORADO, UNITED STATES. (AUGUST 25, 2012)(NBC) -
Lance Armstrong made his first public appearance Saturday (August 25) since his decision not to fight doping charges brought by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

Armstrong was in the town of Aspen, Colorado to participate in the Power of Four bike race, a 36-mile ride through the difficult terrain surrounding the famous ski town.

Armstrong owns a home in Aspen and has been known to take part in small Colorado cycling events over the years. The 40-year-old appeared unbothered by the controversy surrounding him and even stopped to talk to fans after the race.
