Chelsea appear to have beaten Tottenham Hotspur to Willian

 DONETSKUKRAINE (OCTOBER 22, 2012) (REUTERS) -  Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho hinted on Friday (August 23) that Brazil playmaker Willian has chosen to join Chelsea ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

British media reported the Anzhi Makhachkala forward was set to join Tottenham in a 30 million pounds ($46.72 million) deal after a medical at the north London clubamid interest from Liverpool.

Chelsea, however, have entered the race to sign the player and manager Mourinho suggested that the player had decided to join the West London club.

Willian joined Anzhi from Shakhtar Donetsk in January, but the club's ownerSuleiman Kerimov has tightened the purse-strings at the Dagestan club, with the entire first-team available for sale, according to media reports.

Capped twice by BrazilWillian can play as an attacking midfielder or out wide.
